They asked whether the one who was filling out the form was willing to serve American forces in the war. Two questions of the questionnaire gained enormous attention. All those were supposed to fill out the questionnaire that was above 17 years of age. In 1943, the War Department sent a loyalty questionnaire to the internment camps. After getting released, he joined Scottsbluff Junior College to pursue his education. Thus, in compliance with this decision John Okada and his family were sent to Minidoka, Idaho. This order was given on 19 th February 1942. President Roosevelt commanded the ethnic Japanese. During this time, Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese. He got his early education from the local elementary and high school.Īfterward, he got admission to the University of Washington. When John Okada was born, he had to live in a society that was racially not tolerable because of his origins. There he started a business and became the owner of Merchant`s Hotel in Pioneer Square.

His father traveled from a small town in Japan and came to the United State in 1910. He basically belonged to Japan and his parents had emigrated from Japan so he was the first generation of America.
